We are very pleased to announce that the ISRSE symposium organizers granted us one of the two Commendations on the best oral paper entitled "Emerging SAR Techniques to Support Tropical Forest Carbon Accounting".

The 33rd International Symposium on Remote Sensing of Environment (ISRSE) took place on May 4-8 2009 in Stresa, Italy. This large Symposium represents a major event in the long series of internationally recognized ISRSE meetings. It specifically addressed the UN Millennium Development Goals and was structured along the societal benefit areas of the GEO (Group on Earth Observations) initiative.

Preceding the workshop, progress has been discussed with other members of the GEO Forest Carbon Tracking task at the GEOSS Workshop XXVI Forest Observations for Carbon Tracking.

More information on the agenda can be found here.

The WUR-SarVision team is a dedicated member of the GEO Forest Carbon Tracking task team, an international collaboration to aiming to develop and implement a global consistent and reliable global carbon monitoring system based on national subsystems.
