Keynote at world-leading ESRI GIS conference
Approximately 14,000 participants from 180 countries gathered at the 2009 ESRI International User Conference in San Diego (July 13 - 17).
In his inspiring talk, former BOS Foundation director Willie Smits provided fascinating examples of the pioneering use of forest monitoring systems and maps developed by the WUR-Sarvision team.
One of the key messages: the technology is available to help address unsustainable logging and deforestation. Use it.
