Google helps launch Forest Carbon Tracking portal
Google developed and contributed the portal, for more information see Google’s blog.
The advanced radar land cover map for Borneo developed by the Wageningen University – SarVision team is already available for viewing at: http://sites.google.com/a/geo-fct.org/k-c-palsar-borneo-map/
The WUR-SarVision team is a dedicated member of the GEO Forest Carbon Tracking task team, an international collaboration aiming to develop and implement a consistent and reliable global carbon monitoring system based on national subsystems.

High resolution tropical forest monitoring (details of 20-30m).
Local surveillance with TerraSAR-X radar or low-cost aircraft systems (details up to 1 m).
